What Class Should I Ride?

Motorcycle Trials Riding is for anyone and everyone.  From the never-ever to the seasoned veteran

Novice

Just learning to ride, special sections created to foster learning, comfort and familiarity on the bike.  

Register for Novice Championship
Amateur Trials Rider navigates the section in his first trial ever.

Amateur

Similar in difficulty to riding the trail that connects all the sections together. Most straight forward path from beginning gate to end gate.  Sections suited to build confidence on the bike and in the environment.

Vintage class rider navigates the man made section at the Jackrabbit Trial.

Vintage

The Vintage class will ride the same line as the Amateurs. If your bike is Air Cooled, it qualifies for entry.

Clubman rider staying focused and exploring the wheelie.

Clubman

Tailored to the aspiring new rider.  Introducing splits, gates and a directional path though sections. Its not your first time riding but you are still learning how trials sections work and how you work inside the sections.  The hardest Amateur lines mixed with the softer Intermediate lines.

Intermediate trials rider navigates some off-camber terrain.

Intermediate

Designed to begin challenging the riders skill, with route planning, front and rear break allocations, body positioning,  small obstacles, off camber, loose soil, small logs, roots. This class is typically one of the largest classes at a trial event and offers an excellent taste of closely contested competition.

Senior Intermediate [age 40+]

Designed to begin challenging the riders skill, with route planning, front and rear break allocations, body positioning,  small obstacles, off camber, loose soil, small logs, roots. This class is typically one of the largest classes at a trial event and offers an excellent taste of closely contested competition.  

Register for Sr. Intermediate Championship

Senior Advanced [age 40+]

You have been challenged and now ready for more! These riders poses more technical bike handling  skills, introduction to alternate route finding, some creative thinking,  front and rear break allocations, small to medium obstacles, off camber, loose, logs, roots. These sections will be made up of the most challenging Intermediate sections and the more friendly Advanced sections.

An Advanced Class rider looking for traction.

Advanced

You have been tested, you have had practice letting go of your bike, its definitely not your first rodeo.  You have good clutch, throttle and brake control, you know your limits and you are willing to ride to them.  If a section is ridden perfectly, no hopping or fancy bike maneuvering should be needed, however if you have some hopping skills, it will certainly be to your advantage.

Expert Sportsman

You are a consistent top finisher in the Advanced class and want to continue challenging yourself.  These sections are made up of the softer Expert lines and all of the most challenging Advanced lines.

Expert

You have all the trials skills in your arsenal, hops, stops, wheelies, nollies, pressure load ups, wind ups, whiskey throttles, pivot hops, japs, slaps, zaps and even naps. Your ground game and setup are key, you know the rules, you know where you want to be... its just about putting it all together in the right flow in an effort to get that elusive zero!

Master

The name says it all... you better be comfortable with a crowd because all eyes on you :)
